Reyansh and Shaurya are two jolly friends in Majuli village, Assam India. They are so fond of themselves that villagers know that the other is around once they see one of them. The same applies to their parents. The two families are so close that the bond between them seems like that of a snail and its shell. They are both local farmers and their farmlands share very close boundaries.
Hardworking but almost extremely poor, most people in the village often think their relationship is the cause of the poverty between them. These two families are fully aware of what others think of them but who cares. Reyansh’s father used to say “even the dead get criticized”.
While other kids in the neighborhood were attending schools, Reyansh and Shaurya’s parents couldn’t afford the financial responsibility attached to this choice, so the two kids worked and lived primitive lifestyles with their families in the village.
Sooner rather than later, the kids became teens. Reyansh began to fancy the need to take responsibility for his own life. Needless to say, he matured faster than Shaurya in thoughts and maybe actions. He decided to enroll with an automobile repair technician in the neighborhood. After returning from his parent’s farm every afternoon, he’d usually set on his own apprenticeship class at the said shop.
Not more than a week that Reyansh joined the repair shop, his boss fell in love with his nature and honesty. He was such a calm and humble boy. His boss never managed to think twice before entrusting him with the finances of the firm as the treasurer, thus he has the keys to the income generated. It is good to say that his good deeds won him the love and recognition even above the apprentices he met in the shop.
Shortly after Reyansh began work with the automobile repair shop, he started spending limited time with Shaurya. Shaurya has not been doing anything other than following his parents to farm. Reyansh thought to himself to gear his friend up to the need to have a life of his own. Shaurya agreed to join him in the automobile shop and so Reyansh convinced his boss to enroll him.
This decision marked the beginning of Reyansh’s woes, who also trusted his friend with access to the firm’s money safe. From that point Reyansh starts to find errors in balances because Shaurya secretly stole from the safe. Reyansh knows the culprit could only have been Shaurya who also has access to the safe, but he wants to be sure.
