Rohit’s parents did not desire to give him the money as he was still not mature enough to decide what was right for him. They asked him to wait for the time when he becomes mature enough to be able to comprehend the importance of money and how to utilize it in the right way. They thought Rohit would understand and accept their point of view, but nobody knew that Rohit had different plans.
A few days had passed since the matter was closed. Everything seemed perfectly normal when one day all of a sudden Rohit’s mother realized that her locker was all empty. She had kept all their savings and precious jewellery in the locker. The only person on suspicion was the servant as there was no other than Rohit, his parents and the servant living in the house.
They called their servants and made inquiries about the matter. Their servant refused to accept that he was the culprit. They finally decided to take the help of the police. They went on to complain to the police station. The police officials visited their house and tried to find the clues the culprit must have left behind. They came to know that the locker was digitally locked and there were fingerprint marks of Rohit and his parents and nothing remotely near the servant. Also upon enquiring, they came to know that the servant was illiterate but had no history of any stealing. The police thus was convinced that the thief was one of the members of the family only.
Both the parents became suspicious of Rohit’s involvement in the act. They started asking him and they warned him that if caught then one could even be behind bars. That was when Rohit suddenly broke down into tears. He accepted that he had stolen the money from their locker. Rohit’s parents were shocked and asked him why he did so, to which he replied that he wanted to live a luxurious life like his favourite celebrities for which he had even asked the money but they had denied. Thus they realized their mistakes. Kids in their teens don’t understand what is right and what is wrong, they tend to follow their hearts. Thus instead of denying them, parents should understand the reason behind their needs and help them understand what they can do to help them. This can be done by setting the right role model for them, asking them the right questions and having constant conversations with them.
